We'll always have each other...

Today is the last day to enter the sex toy giveaway! I forgot that yesterday was Thursday so I thought it ended yesterday. Oops, my mistake. You still have until midnight central time tonight to get in an entry. Find out how here. Come back Saturday to see who won! There will be a video. ;)

The Boyfriend rented The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus on Wednesday night. It has Heath Ledger, Colin Farrell, Jude Law and Johnny Depp. It looks weird, it is as weird as it looks and it was pretty good too. I'd totally watch it again. Then again, I love strange movies.

This is one of my favorite songs by Incubus.

I fucking love them. They're one of my absolute favorite bands.

1) What's your favorite thing in your bedroom?

The bed!

2) Do you own a paintball gun?
I wish! I used to but don't anymore. Bummer.

3) When is your birthday?
June 15th! :D

4) What do you prefer to drink in the morning?
OJ or V8 Berry Fusion.

5) Are you able to successfully do a proper push up?

6) Name 3 things you purchased for yourself in the last few days?
Nothing. I'm broke. And I mean it when I say it, lol.

7) Do you own any slippers/house shoes?

8) When did you last get some form of exercise?
Yesterday. Did various exercises with some weights, some stomach crunches and then did 13 miles on the exercise bike.

9) What does good with tomato juice?
Someone who isn't me to drink it.

10) Are you probably able to do the Waltz?
Maybe, lol. I'd be a little rusty but I think I remember how.

Happy Friday!

You know what really grinds my gears?

Have you entered my sex toy giveaway yet? Check it out. ;)

I almost always do posts on things I like. Favorite things, things I love, things that make me happy, etc. So today, I'm going the opposite road. I won't list everything that I dislike, I might want to post this again with different things one day when I have nothing else I want to bore y'all with, lol. So here are some of the things that irk me...

The smell of freshly cut grass. It's not a terrible smell and I do love a nicely maintained lawn looks. I hate that smell. A few seconds of that and my eyes will water, my throat will itch and I'll be sneezing my head off for hours to come.

Playing soccer. Zzzzz. I have a few friends who love to play. I've tried. I just can't get into it. I'm alright watching it though if it's a good game going on. If it's not a good game? Zzzzz.

Craving something for the longest time, finally getting it and then it not being good at all. Granted, this doesn't happen very often. Usually when I'm craving something and I get it, I'm all "OhFuckingHellYesThisIsAmazingOhYeaaaaaah" but once in a while, it happens.

Songs that repeat the same thing over and over again. It drives me nuts. Which is why I can't stand most of the catchy pop crap that comes on the radio. I don't care how well a person can sing, if their songs are catchy repetitious crap? Forget about it.

People who hate things vehemently.... for no reason. Seriously, this is so annoying. I hate when someone passionately hates or dislikes something but has no argument or reasons at all why they hate it. "It rubs me the wrong way because I find it annoying" is better than saying, "I dunno, I just hate it so rah rah rah blah blah blah."

Broccoli. I've tried to eat it many times in so many different set ups. I just can't do it. The smell of cooked broccoli by itself makes me want to gag.

Dirty hardwood (or tile, stone, any other hard surface) floors. I like to walk around indoors without shoes or socks on. I don't like having junk on the bottom of my feet, it's gross and it drives me nuts. I also don't like walking around in socks and getting my socks all gunked up. Clean floors, ftw!

People who thrive on drama. (Especially the people who claim to hate drama but are always in it or starting it.) I DON'T like drama. My life has very little drama in it. I don't hang out with people get into a lot of drama or start a lot of drama. It's inevitable to avoid it 100% but I don't engage in people's petty bullshit, life is too short for that bullshit.

People who think their opinion/point of view/etc are the ONLY one. Especially if they're someone like that that thinks they're open-minded to a lot of different views but really aren't. You cannot argue with someone like that because it doesn't matter what you say, you're wrong. I also can't stand someone who "listens to your opinion" and then tries to subtly point out why you're wrong.

When a bird flies into the windshield while I'm driving. A few birds have died that way. It freaks me out having something unexpected hit the windshield. Driving along and all of the sudden, a bird swoops down at the wrong moment, smacks into the windshield, bounces up over the top of the car and hits the road behind me. Sad. Also, freaks me the fuck out to have a bird suddenly smack into the windshield while I'm driving.

Kiwi. Just kidding. Kiwi is good. Yum.

Come on, I had to end on a good note, lol.

Happy Thursday!

The Silver Screen & The TV Screen...

If you haven't entered my sex toy giveaway yet, you totally should.
The post and all the details are below this one. Check it out. Thanks
to everyone that has entered so far! ;)

I don't get to see a lot of movies in the theater because that stuff
is expensive & I can't really afford to go to movies. I also don't
much care for crowded theaters anyway.

I am a fan of RedBox though. I can see a lot of movies from there for
what it costs to see one in the theater.

I do get curious about the stuff in theaters. I received some movie
passes recently and have no clue what to see. So, if you've seen
anything that's currently out, tell me about it! How was it? I always
like hearing people's opinions on movies. Unless you're a film critic,
then, not so much.

Also, what are some good movies you've watched at home lately? I don't
like romantic comedy. I don't like romance movies at all. If it's
considered a "chick flick" then I generally won't care to see it. I
prefer movies with explosions. Comedy that doesn't involve an entire
plot of dating and relationship plots that are cheesy. Suspense flicks
that will have my brain working trying to figure what's what as the
movie unfolds. I like blood and gore movies too but I'm picky, lol.

So, seen anything good lately?

My first sex toy giveaway!

The lovely people over at Adult Sex Toys are sponsoring my very first sex toy giveaway! Isn't that nice of them? I've mentioned this before and been chattering a little on Twitter about it but today is the day I start the contest. Woohoo, right? Right?

So what do I have? The BNaughty Bullet Vibe!
Just click the link or the picture to find out the details of the toy. ;)

So, how do you enter to get your chance to win this?

Easy! I thought up a ton of different things I could do that would be fun or challenging but in the end, I decided to keep it simple.

All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on this blog post and tell me about your favorite sex toy. Tell me what you love about it and why it's your favorite. You don't need to go into a long story about your favorite experience with said toy, just tell me WHY it's your favorite. If you don't have a favorite or have never used a toy at all, then tell me why you want to win the BNaughty.

You want a second entry? Tweet about the contest. Just copy the following text EXACTLY as you see it here and then tweet it on Twitter. If you do that, make sure you let me know you've done it. Don't follow me? Well, you need to, lol. ;) FYI, if your updates are locked and I DON'T follow you, I won't be able to see the tweet to know you did. So, if you tweet about the contest. Let me know. ;)

"RT @AshlyStar's doing her first sex toy giveaway! Details here: Please RT!"

If you don't have Twitter and want to get a second entry, you can easily post about the contest on your own blog if you want and that can count as a second entry. Just make sure you link back to this blog and send me the link so I'll know.

The contest ends on Friday! So you have until April 30th to enter to try and win this thing. You have to be willing to provide a mailing address so the toy can be sent to you. It doesn't cost anything and you won't have to pay any shipping. Have fun! =)

On substance abuse.

(248): We aren’t going to mix hockey and sex texts tonight.
(440): I totally agree. all sexting is on hold till after the games over.
(248): Playoffs. This shit is serious.

That is probably the most awesome thing I've ever seen on Texts From Last Night. It's so awesome that even though I already posted it on my Tumblr page, I had to post it here too. Of course, I'm biased in my reasoning for finding that to be the most awesome thing ever. Seriously, I can only read so many texts about people laughing about how awesome doing weed and coke are or how they cleverly hid their drugs. I don't find those things amusing, generally. I guess I don't see the humor in it anymore. Some people use for recreation. Granted, I didn't use in a recreational once in a while type of way. I used in a I've smoked weed 7 times tonight and also drank and taken some pills kind of way or a I've done several lines of coke and now I'm going to smoke a blunt kind of way. I used as an escape. It makes me sad seeing all those tweets about drugs because it makes me wonder if they're doing it to have fun and relax a little or doing it to escape. And really, doing it for fun and recreation isn't much better.

One of my formerly closest friends has struggled with substance abuse since since I met him. I was 17 when I met him. We used to talk every day. Then we talked a few times a week. Then we didn't talk much at all for a while. Then, he had some stuff go on with his mom and he was upset and sent me a text one night asking if we could talk. We did and we went back to talking regularly again. Sadly, we hardly talk anymore because he's always high on coke and other drugs. It got worse after he went through the death of his father. I think that was the worst it had ever been and I felt miserable because I couldn't do anything to make it better for him.

I know why he uses and he does it to escape from everything that bothers him. To feel better. To make life seem better. He admits that's why he uses. I wish he'd stop. The last time he called me was recent. He wanted to say hi, tell me he missed me and see how I was doing. We talked a bit and then I asked him if he was still clean because three months ago when I heard from him last, he had been. He said he only stayed clean a month. I bitched at him, hard. He listened to it all and then told me he always appreciated how honest I was and how lucky he felt to have me. We talked a bit more. Then, he asked me if I was still friends with such and such because he wanted to get an eight ball for him and some people to get fucked up on. I told him I didn't hang out or even talk to coke dealer anymore and didn't talk to any other drug dealers. It took me a while but I let go of all my relationships that involved people who used drugs daily or sold them. It wasn't good for me to be around that because at the time, I was incredibly tempted to jump back into it just to have that escape from reality.

My friend and I talked for a while longer. He told me he was looking for a job again after getting fired from a restaurant he was waiting tables at. Again. He got fired from the last one for doing coke in the bathroom during a shift. He got fired at this one because he got caught buying while at work. I laughed but not because anything was funny. He didn't laugh because he knew I wasn't amused. He's so smart and so good at so many things. It's disappointing but not as much as it used to be. I didn't bitch at him again after he told me that. He asked me why I wasn't yelling at him. I told him it would be wasting my breath because he wouldn't listen anyway. He didn't say anything for a full minute. Then he asked if I was giving up on him too. I didn't say anything for a while. When I did, I told him he made it really hard to care about him when he so clearly didn't care about anyone or anything, including himself. I told him I understood now how hard it must have been for the sober friends I had had at the time when I was really into drugs. I told him I understood why some of them said to hell with me. I understood how hard it was to care about a self-destructive person, because it's so hard and you don't get much (if anything) out of it. You get a lot of frustration and heartache out of it, that's for sure. I told him I wish that someone would have stepped in and helped me sooner because in the end, I helped myself because I was afraid I'd die if I didn't stop. Which is no one's fault. I honestly don't think other people in my life knew how much I used so they probably didn't think it was bad enough to step in. I also think most of them thought I was only smoking weed, which wasn't the case. So I don't have any resentment towards any one for not stepping in and shaking me by the shoulders because I don't think anyone knew except for the people I partied with. And they obviously wouldn't have said anything because most of them used as much if not more than I did.

I asked him if he realized how lucky he was to have not just one but several people trying to help him. He didn't say anything and then started crying. I didn't say anything and he said he was sorry once he was done crying. I asked for what. He said for everything. I asked him to define everything. And he did. And started crying again, speaking and apologizing through soft sobs. I told him if he ever wanted help getting clean, to please call me because he has to want it. You can't help anyone who doesn't want help or realize they need it. He made me promise I'd answer when that day came. I made him promise that day would come. We hung up after making our promises and I felt empty because I don't think that day will ever come.

Someone on Twitter mentioned that they should have a shirt that said "Slut Pride" on it and ironically, I know someone who has a t-shirt shop who has a shirt that says exactly that on there. You can even get the star (or the heart since there's one with a heart instead of the star) a different color scheme or get it one solid color or get a black shirt instead of a white one. Though, the black one costs a few bucks more. The white one is cheaper at $19. ;) And yes, I'm totally using my blog to attempt and help her sell more t-shirts. She has some delightfully awesome and some possibly tacky tees and I admire anyone who ventures out to try and start their own business. I'm not giving any of them away because you know, I'm not well off enough financially at the moment to be doing stuff like that and she's not making enough money (yet) to be giving freebies away. If you want to buy one though, let me know. ;) amorousrocker [at] gmail [dot] com or just leave a comment and make sure you have an e-mail address in your profile. Totally hate when people get mad because I don't get in touch with them but if I don't have your email address and you don't have one readily available in your profile, what do you want from me? I'm not psychic or a magician you know. ;)

But if you do want something totally free and sexy, you definitely need to come back here on Monday. I'm going to be doing my first sponsored blog give away. I just have to think up what kind of contest I want to do to see who gets it. No worries, it won't be anything difficult. ;) I won't tell y'all exactly what it is until Monday but it is a sex toy, it's got a remote control and it's pretty cool. =)

Playoff hockey is so fucking awesome. What's not awesome? People who don't watch all season and then watch during playoffs and think they know everything. "Oh yeah well Detroit rocks so of course they're going to win! They always play well and had a great regular season to keep rolling into the playoffs with. So it's obvious they're going to get the Stanley again this year like last year." Really? FYI, they had a mostly shitty season due to injuries and it looked quite shaky and debatable if they would even make playoffs this year. Once they got healthy, they were doing better and fought their way back up into a playoff spot. Also, they didn't win the Stanley last year. But you know, if you didn't watch all season (or the end of last the playoffs last year)... please don't act like you did and don't try to argue with people about certain things. Yeah, that quote was a real argument, too. They also admitted defeat once they hit Google and saw I wasn't the one talking out my ass.

Last thing... Do any of you know any good Tumblr's to follow that don't have anything to do with sex, erotica, fetish and things of that nature? I try to find new stuff to follow and can't come up with much since most of the bloggers I know that also have a Tumblr generally post things of a sexual nature in one form or another. Which is cool, I just want to find some good pictures of pretty much anything that aren't sex related. I did already try the search Tumblr option. I entered in keywords and I found lots of cool pictures but once I visited the profiles they belonged to... well, the good content was few and far between. I don't spend a lot of time on Tumblr anyway (my own page gets neglected, lol) but you know, if you want to recommend someone for me to follow, I'd appreciate it. ;)

Happy Thursday!

Y'all need to know these things...

I had a couple serious posts I wanted to get done. One was on bisexuality. One was on irresponsible people. One was on why people who drink and drive piss me the fuck off so badly. I couldn't focus enough to get anything with a lot of substance written. No, this has nothing to do with the fact that it's 420 because this chick doesn't smoke weed anymore, thanks. I just have a lot going on right now so focusing is difficult. Unless it's me watching some hockey, I focus on that just fine. Sports are easier to focus on, though. Articulating thoughts into words in a coherent way that makes sense and gets my point across takes effort at times. So, I give you something fun and random for today. Hit it! ;)

Hi, my name is: Ashly.

Never in my life have I been: high on heroin, sky diving, stuck in an elevator (thank you! *knocks on wood*), punched in the cheek, had chili thrown in my face, gargled with Tabasco sauce, been kicked in the cunt or been bitten by a rabbit.

The one person who can drive me nuts better than anyone else is: my boyfriend.

When I’m nervous: I bite/chew on the insides of my cheeks.

The last song I listened to was: "I Miss You" by Incubus.

If I were to get married right now my best man/maid of honor: This is going to be difficult for me as all of my best friends are guys, lol. I hope SS could do it if she makes it to my wedding but given she lives 2,200 miles away I'd forgive her for missing it. Fangs offered though, he even said he'd wear a dress. His boyfriend thought that was cute given he'd be the one more likely to dress feminine. I digress...

Last Christmas: was the first Christmas I spent without my family and honestly, it kind of sucked.

I should be..: practicing my ninja moves.

When I look down I see: boobs.

If I were a character on ‘Friends’ I’d be: No clue, don't think I'd want to be anyone on there honestly, lol.

By this time next year: life will be better.

My current gripe is: underwear goes on inside the pants.

I have a hard time understanding: people who walk up to me and start asking me questions in a language I don't know.

There’s this girl I know that: needs to stop being such a self-destructive, self-absorbed, arrogant, whiny, shallow, stuck up tool.

I like you when: my boyfriend gives me a shoulder massage, the Stars win, I get to lay in bed and listen to the sound of a thunderstorm, my shoes stay tied while I'm walking down stairs and when the right song comes on just at the right moment.

If I won an award, the first person I would tell would be: my boyfriend.

Take my advice: do not walk passed a lion wearing a costume made out of raw steak haphazardly strung together. They will think you are a tasty treat, wrapped in raw meat.

The thing I want to buy: is a new laptop since mine isn't doing so well right now.

If you visited the place I was born: I bet I would be in a hospital. Or your mom's vagina. Please let it be the hospital... unless your mom is hot.

I plan to visit: the shower quiet soon.

If you spent the night at my house: I would probably drive you crazy because I'm such a spaz.

I’d stop my wedding if: someone broke out a beer bong during there ceremony and started doing the fox trot with an invisible dancer partner while trying to chug.

The world could do without: closed minds.

I’d rather lick the belly of a cockroach than: eat someone's intestines.

Most recent thing I’ve bought myself: is deodorant to keep my pits from smelling foul.

Most recent thing someone else bought me: is food to go inside my belly and... well hey, you know the rest.

My favorite blond is: my friend SS because she's pretty much amazing.

My favorite brunette is: my boyfriend.

My favorite red head is: dad! He's the only real red head I know. Sorry to my bottled red friends, lol. Ooh or maybe a hockey player. Bound to be one I like that's got natural red hair, lol.

My middle name is: none of your damn business.

In the morning I: jump out of the bed and do the half asleep stumbling partly running partly trying not to run into the walls routine while I try to get to the bathroom as quick as possible.

The animals I would like to see flying besides birds are: tigers, iguanas, zebras. Also, pigs because then a lot of really weird and crazy shit would start going down.

Once, at a bar: I burped so loud, people around me didn't hear the lyrics to the song that was on for a few seconds. It was epic.

Last night I was: passing out early because I felt like shit but had to get up early.

There’s this guy I know who: walks into walls constantly, on purpose.

If I was an animal I’d be: a penguin or a tiger. OR A TIGUIN.

A better name for me would be: Ashly is fine.

Tomorrow I am: going to walk all over the fucking world. Or maybe just my local area. ;)

Tonight I am: going to watch some motherfucking playoff hockey baby! And get some writing, cleaning, laundry and some other stuff done too.

My birthday is: June 15th. Less than 2 months away. Who wants to buy me presents? Bwa ha ha.

The end.

Happy Tuesday!

Comments for me? :)

Really? Yeah...

The Boyfriend showed me some info on a guy at work . He's in his mid-twenties. The guy's name is Cocaine. Yes, it is pronounced exactly like the drug. Yes, the dude does go by his middle name instead. His middle name doesn't also happen to be the name of a drug, thankfully lol. He had to log in to a program he uses for work and show me proof. I refused to believe someone would name their kid that otherwise. I get it, you have a right to name your kid what you want blah blah. That's cool but you don't have the live with that name your entire life, they do. Glad you think it sounds cool at the time but seriously, it's not. Think about how it's going to effect them in the long run before you go naming your kid something stupid as fuck like that.

I Twitter. I know a lot of people find it annoying, pointless, stupid, etc. Ask me if I care? (I don't, lol.) Some of the people I follow say some awesome things. I'm going to post some stuff from Twitter on my blog.

@carnivalesq Dogs apparently bark at what they don't understand. Cats put their feet on what they don't understand. Honestly? Dog method is where its at.
@carnivalesq Why? Because if I don't understand a bomb, I'd rather be barking at it than touching it with my feet.

@BlackoutDallas @AshlyStar as a good sports writer once said - "watch the damn game!" haha

@badbadgirlx @AshlyStar I remember as a teenager hearing "Love conquers all or it isn't really love." I believed it then.. boy, was I fucking wrong.

@msuchrisr @AshlyStar Whatever happened to the adult discussion that ends in a "agree to disagree"? It's a lost art!

Things I said:

@AshlyStar: "Avs didn't deserve to win tonight!" Fuck y'all. Anderson kept 51 pucks out of the net. He did a stellar job tonight even if the rest didnt.

@AshlyStar: I wish money would have sex in my pocket and multiply.
@sqweakers: Agreed! If it were only that easy.
@AshlyStar: If only! I'd put a few 100 dollar bills in my pocket & hope for an orgy. Lol

@AshlyStar: My sister just posted this on my Facebook wall, lol. It's a shot of Shane Doan after his goal against Detroit tonight...
the caption though? XD Lol.

@SabresDotCom The 99 combined hits by the Sabres/Bruins in Game 2 were the most in a non-OT playoff game since the start of 2006 Playoffs. ---Um, HOLY SHIT. That is insane!

Woo, that's all I've got for today. I'm tired and not in the best of moods here lately.

Happy Monday.

Um, pardon me Officer but...

First.... I was totally bummed out about something yesterday. One of my favorite bands is Type O Negative. They're one of the few bands I really dig that I haven't got to see play live yet. Now, totally won't happen because the band's frontman Peter Steele passed away yesterday. I don't usually get sad when celebrities die because usually it's not someone I'm a fan of. I know that sounds cold but it's the truth. I find death sad but dozens of people die every day, it's no more sad just because one of them was in a dozen movies. Once in a while though, I get why people are sad when a celebrity they like dies. Type O's music resonated with me in a lot of ways. I got through some hard shit blasting their tunes and getting lost in the lyrics that I understood quite well. It's sad he's gone but hey, maybe he's in a better place now. You can read the official statement here if you want to.

I get A LOT of questions on my formspring account. I answered 20 something yesterday and I still have some sitting in my inbox waiting for an answer. So you know, if you didn't see your question answered, it's probably still there waiting on me to answer it. ;) I usually get 5 - 10 or more a day and I tend to not feel like answering them a lot, so they build up. I get a lot of questions I delete too. Some people are just rude and disrespectful. Some people say catty, pathetic things anonymously that they don't have the nerve to say to me otherwise. I love how some people get the biggest balls when they're able to hide behind anonymity. Other questions I delete are ones that I find to be "too much" in sexual nature. As open as I generally am, even where sex is concerned, you can use your imagination to try and think up some of the things I must be getting asked if I deem them "too much" and delete them. I guess that falls under getting big balls under the anonymity as well. I went off on a bit of a tangent here and none of this has to do with the real point of my post, lol.

I get a lot of questions. Despite the bad ones and the tasteless comments that get left, I still get a lot of questions I do leave to answer. A lot of them are random and what a lot of people would call "useless information" to be honest. Sometimes, I wonder why someone would want to know what I had for dinner tonight but hey, it's whatever. You ask and I'm very likely going to answer. I get a lot of really good ones too.

Yesterday, I had someone ask me a question and it spawned one of my absolute favorite stories to tell. I don't think I've ever told it on my blog. At the time it happened, I was 18 and while I did have this blog; I was more into drinking, partying and drugs and wasn't updating very often at all. I pretty much updated when I went to my parents house and used their computer to do so because we didn't have internet at the apartment my roommates and I shared. We could have had internet but you know, booze, drugs and general partying were more important than the interwebz. And blogging. I only have a couple people (as far as I know) that still read me that did way back then. So cool to those people. Anyway, check out the question and enjoy the answer I gave. It was fun re-telling it. =)

do you have any funny stories that involve you and the police?

YES! OH MY GOSH. This is probably my favorite story to tell even though it happened like 6 years ago, lol.

So I was living in South Texas, real close to South Padre. A bunch of friends and I had gone to the beach because there was a big bonfire party going on out there. Everyone was drinking and having a good time. There were 2 kegs and cases upon cases of beer as well as some other stuff. There were about 50 people there and it was a great time.

I was the designated driver for the night so when the party was winding down in the wee hours of the morning, we decided to leave and start heading back off the island.

One of my best friends at the time (RIP honey) was soo hammered. I was driving my car at the time (a Ford Focus) and had 4 drunk guys packed into it with me, lol. Now my super hammered friend tells me while I'm on the highway, maybe 15 minutes from his house, that he has to puke. I'm like, fuck that, there's a gas station up here soon, I'll get you there. So, it's late as hell (or early as hell, lol) and the highway is mostly empty. So I punch it to do 80 to get to the gas station. I failed to see a cop on the shoulder but he didn't miss me and pulled me over. I cringed, told my friend he better not fucking puke in my car and waited for the cop to get to the window.

He asked me where I was in such a "damn rush" to get to. I told him my friend (who was thankfully of age to be a lush, lol) had drank too much and was going to throw up so I had been in a rush to get to the gas station. The one that I was so close to. Literally, we were maybe 50 feet from the exit. It was like 60 seconds away. Damn, him. I digress. He wanted to check my ID, asked if I had been drinking. I said no. He wanted everyone else to present their ID's because they were all drunk. They were all 21 at least so no big deal. Then, my best buddy says "I'm about to fucking puke, I'm going to get out of the car and puke!"

The cops tells my buddy to remain in the vehicle. My buddy is not going to puke in the car, so he exited the vehicle. The cop stalked quickly around the vehicle telling my friend to get back in the car. The cop grabbed my friend, shook him lightly and asked if he had anything (weapons or drugs) on him. My friend said no and said he really was about to puke and that's all he was out of the car for. The cop, still holding on to him, began to say, "I don't give two shits...." and then my friend started hurling. ALL OVER THE COP. After a few seconds, the cop let him go and let him finish puking. The cop had puke on his arms, pants legs and shoes.

My friends in the car were all so scared we were all going to get in trouble and I was trying not to laugh, honestly.

The cop walked back around to the drivers side to me and very calmly told me to get my friend home and to watch my speeding. He handed me a warning but no ticket and then walked back to his car.

Happy Friday!

Black Cherry Beer...

Lindeman's Kriek Black Cherry Lambic.

These pictures are from several months ago. I think it was either in December or January, I can't even remember. I don't like beer as a general rule but going to beer bars earlier in the year with the Boyfriend and some friends, I found some stuff that I really dig. I've also tried a lot of stuff that was disgusting. This fruity beer is so good though. Kind of expensive but the taste makes it worth it. Unfortunately, I've only had this once because yeah, pricey, lol. I've tried several other beverages by Lindeman's and as far as fruity beers go, the Black Cherry has been my favorite so far.

For a NSFW picture featuring me, you can find that here today.

Happy Thursday!

Playoffs & Random Dozen.

OH MY GOSH GUYS! NHL PLAYOFFS START TODAY! No, the Stars aren't in it. Yes, I'm still going to watch, blog and tweet my ass off over the playoffs. What? I love hockey. Tonight's games that kick of Round 1 of the NHL Playoffs? Ottawa VS Pittsburgh, Philadelphia VS New Jersey, Detroit VS Phoenix and Colorado VS San Jose. If I can find a feed online, I'm definitely going to watch Detroit/Phoenix and maybe try to catch a little of Colorado/San Jose. I would fucking LOVE for Phoenix and Colorado to win. However, I think Detroit will take Phoenix and San Jose will take Colorado. It's going to be fun to watch how it all goes down though. As for Pittsburgh and Ottawa, I don't really care who wins that match up to move on to the second round. New Jersey and Philadelphia? I dislike both teams. I think New Jersey will probably knock Philly out and move on to the second round but it would definitely amuse me if Philly knocked them out and ended up moving on since I dislike New Jersey more. The exception to that is Jamie Langenbrunner, I adore the fuck out of him. A couple other guys on NJ are alright too. I just really think Martin Brodeur is an egotistical ass and that throws me off from liking them and wanting them to win, lol. Anyway... =)

I found this meme through ASM and decided I'd play along today. I doubt I'll do it regularly but once in a while might be cool. Click the picture to go over to the blog that hosts the meme. It's fun.

1. How do you feel about "Gladiator" sandals, also called "Roman" or "Jesus" sandals? A fashion yea or nay?
I wouldn't personally wear them. I don't honestly care what other people wear. As long as they like it, who cares?

2. What is your favorite pizza?
Pepperoni with jalapenos. Mmmm.

3. There are plans in the works to sell roughly 1,000 items from Star Trek: The Experience in Las Vegas. This means you could buy Picard's chair for your family room. If not a Star Trek item, what prop, background, set, etc. from what TV or movie would you buy if you could? [Ex: Hurley's "I Love my Shih tzu" shirt from LOST, the plantation home "Tara" from Gone With the Wind, or Tracy's tambourine from the Partridge Family.]
I'd probably buy Picard's chair and then turn around and sell it. I'd probably make what I spent plus turn a profit, lol. Honestly, I don't watch much TV so I can't think of anything I would want since I tend to mainly watch sports and educational stuff.

4. Name a local food or restaurant that your area is famous for.
Twisted Root Burger Co. in Dallas is pretty well known. And they were on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives on Food Network so that was cool. Their burgers rock.

5. What is your current favorite snack?
It depends on my mood. Right now, it's a toss up between carrot sticks with ranch dip or whole grain crackers with cream cheese.

6. Hypothetical: You are required to be a reality show contestant. Which show would you choose based on your probability of success? (You cannot choose "none.")

A. Dancing with the Stars

B. Biggest Loser
C. Survivor
Since I have to pick one... Dancing with the Stars, I guess. I can at least dance and I think that would be kind of fun.

7. On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being uninhabitable and 10 being cleanliness that meets the standards of OCD, how clean is your vehicle's interior?
10. I can't stand a dirty car, lol.

8. It doesn't feel like Spring until baseball season begins!

9. Something that made you laugh really hard recently is one of my friends telling me the horror story that was his most recent date.

10. Tell me about a goal you're working toward.
Being able to play sports competitively again. Which just requires me to amp up my workouts a bit more and so far, I'm doing just fine. =)

11. Share a thought-provoking or inspiring quote this week.
"Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one's definition of your life; define yourself." -Harvey Fierstein

12. Name one thing that you do as a parent girlfriend that you absolutely know will make your kids boyfriend happy. If you're not a parent, feel free to substitute "friend" or nomenclature that works for you.
I changed it to boyfriend since I don't have any kiddos, lol. I also cheated and asked my boyfriend to answer this, lol. He said the weird/goofy/quirky outbursts I randomly have make him super happy. Also, any time I randomly hug and/or kiss him does the trick as well.

Happy Wednesday!

Pussies, Vampires, Penguins; OH MY!

Veronica of Another Suburban Mom posted a something wonderful today titled, "Trolls and Internet Rules of the Road" due to a lot of the nastiness that's been going around on a lot of blogs lately. The video featured in her post is awesome, short and features the ever so awesome Phineas and Ferb. Yes, I like Phin and Ferb. My youngest brother was into the show and I used to watch it with him. While I still lived in California anyway. So, I haven't seen Phin and Ferb since around July but I digress. You should definitely go over to her blog and check out the post.

I was reading a blog post yesterday on a livejournal account that baffled me. The post has since been deleted so I can't reference anything from it so I'm just kind of going to go off what I remember. Natalia, my point isn't to piss you off but I just seriously don't get it. Basically, her post was about how disgusting vagina's are because of the "monthly bill that all women have to pay." Um, really? Sure, no one likes having to bleed every month. No one likes the cramps and other cons that come with having a period. Most women just don't dig having to bleed a few days (or more) a month. Sure, that part sucks but the rest of the time, you see nothing good about having a vagina? A vagina brings new life into the world. They stretch like whoa for it to happen and then go back down (mostly, from what I hear since I have no kids thus have no experience) to size. It might not be as tight as it once was after that but seriously, something that can stretch that way and then tighten back up? Awesome. Not to be gross, I also like being able to pee. I drink a lot of liquids through out the day and it feels good to let them back out, too. How awkward would peeing be if you didn't have your vagina? That's what I thought. Also, how do you not get pleasure from your vagina? Be it sex or masturbation, you can thank your vagina for providing those orgasms.
You hate your vagina and find it disgusting just because you have to bleed monthly? That's fine if that's how you feel but I seriously just can't understand the logic behind it. I still fucking love mine. Seriously, dude. Thanks for being awesome and wonderful, vagina!

I posted this picture yesterday to my Twitter account but I wanted to post it on here too because it made me chuckle and I want to share. Sorry to all my readers who dig the Twilight series but it's no secret to most that I just don't get into them. I got quite a few comments on the picture once I posted it to Twitter but my favorite one?

So for people who know me or that have read my blog for a while know that I love love love penguins. No, not the Pittsburgh Penguins (though, I do like a few of the dudes who play for that team. No, Sidney Crosby is NOT one of them.) but real penguins. They're one of my favorite animals and I've been fascinated by them since I was a little kiddo. I have a legion of plush penguins. This one is Mo. (Thanks to the Boyfriend for his assistance in getting this picture, lol.)

Ain't he cute?

Happy Tuesday!

Blah blah blah...

I have a few things I want to write about. I just can't seem to find the words to do it right now. I started different posts about each topic I want to cover but I ended up not wording them the way I wanted to. You ever write something out and you can't make the words line up with your thoughts? I want to be able to convey my thoughts accurately instead of just half-assed. So, when I get my head cleared, I'll write some of the things I want to address. And oh, are they some fun topics. ;)

I didn't do a Drink of the Day post this weekend. I didn't get much feedback when I asked how regularly y'all wanted to see those posts up. I figure I'll drop that down to every other week or once a month. Or just stop doing them. Depends on what I feel like doing, lol.

NHL PLAYOFFS START SOON! Yesterday was the last bunch of regular season games. The Stars didn't make the playoffs this season. If you thought that would be the end of my hockey blogging and hockey twittering for this season, you would be wrooong. I love hockey and even though the Stars aren't in the playoffs, I'm totally going to watch a lot of games anyway. :D

I hope all of you had a nice weekend. Did ya? Did ya? Huh huh huh? ;)

Happy Monday!

Oh so emotional...

First up, if you follow me on Twitter (as you should!), please note that I'm no longer Amorous Rocker on there. My name has been changed. That's the name I'll be blogging under come Monday too. Assuming I can get my blog up and running on it's own domain FINALLY. Anyway, no drink of the day post today. I'll have that up tomorrow, maybe.

Last night was the last Stars home game of the season. Their final game will be Saturday, against the Wild in Minnesota. They played the Ducks last night in their final game at home and it was an amazing game to watch.

The first goal was scored by Jamie Benn and assisted by Jere Lehtinen and Mike Modano.

Mike Modano scored with 1:47 left in the third with assists by Trevor Daley and Jamie Benn. It went to overtime and then went to a shootout. Marty Turco blocked two shots and Mike Modano and Jere Lehtinen scored shootout goals to give the Stars a 3-2 victory over the Anaheim Ducks.

Marty Turco made 17 saves and another two in the shootout for the win. Last night was probably the last game Marty will play in Dallas. So sad, honestly. He's one of my absolute favorite players and it will be sad to see him go to another team. He's been our goalie for so long too. I'm happy his last game played in Dallas was a good game that resulted in a hell of a win.

It was a very emotional game. Mike Modano is expected (but hasn't confirmed anything, yet) to retire after this season. So, if he does, last night was the last game he'll play in Dallas. He's had 17 seasons as a Star. The only player on the Stars who played as a North Star and a Dallas Star. I'm 24 and he's been my favorite player since I was 9 years old. He's the reason I played hockey when I was a little kid. I loved the sport then and I thought he was amazing and wonderful back then too. He made it seem like such an awesome sport and I wanted to play. I did for a few years too. So much fun. I digress. One of the best presents my parents gave me as a little kid was an autographed Mike Modano hockey puck. That was the coolest fucking thing ever. I've since acquired plenty more autographed hockey stuff, by Modano and some of my other favorite Stars players. I think it's awesome that Mo got the goal in the game to tie it up to take it to overtime and even better than he got a goal in the shootout to help with the win over Anaheim. At one point during the game, the crowd at the AAC gave Modano a standing ovation. Actually, he got a few of those. One in particular happened and lasted for about 5 minutes, interrupting game play. Modano sat on the bench as people screamed, clapped, whistled and cheered in his honor. He had tears in is eyes, then he looked down and you could see his shoulders shaking as the camera focused on him. He had tears streaming down his face. It was such an emotional game. And yeah, I totally fucking cried too. And from what I hear, every person I know who watched or went to the game who is a fan cried or had tears in their eyes that threatened to spill over. And that's a lot of people, lol. They also showed fans who were crying or wiping tears away as they cheered for mighty Mo.

Jere Lehtinen also got a lot of cheering as did Marty Turco. They played video tributes and put up random facts all night on the jumbo screen featuring Mike Modano, Jere Lehtinen and Marty Turco. All three men got a lot of cheers, clapping and support from the crowd. And from people at home who were cheering and hollering at their television screens. (Oh yeah, you guys were doing it too! I'm looking at you, F & Z ;)) Jere Lehtinen is also expected to retire after this season as well. Turco will likely be traded. It'll be sad seeing them go.

The three Stars if the night belonged to (of course!) Marty Turco, Jere Lehtinen and Mike Modano.

As a Stars fan who grew up watching hockey and watching Modano, it will be so fucking weird not seeing #9 out there. All good things come to an end eventually though, right?

Last up, this is a picture of the best sign ever. One of my friends got a picture of this and sent it to me and now, I'm sharing it with all of you...

Bwahaha. Calm down Avery/Rangers fans. I don't hate Avery. I think he's a good player, when he wants to be. I also think he's an assclown. Anyway. It's still a funny as hell/amazing sign, though. Thanks for showing it to me, friend who doesn't have a name on my blog cast yet! Lol.

Happy Friday!

Stars & Gunslingers...

The Stars play the Blackhawks tonight. Hopefully it's a good game. The Stars have been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention but meh, whatever. I still hope they win their remaining three games. That's enough hockey for the moment.

Now for something I got in an email. I think from my dad. Anyway, here's the joke.

An old prospector shuffled into the town of El Indio , Texas leading an old tired mule. The old man headed straight for the only saloon in town, to clear his parched throat. He walked up to the saloon and tied his old mule to the hitch rail. As he stood there, brushing some of the dust from his face and clothes, a young gunslinger stepped out of the saloon with a gun in one hand and a bottle of whiskey in the other.

The young gunslinger looked at the old man and laughed, saying, "Hey old man, have you ever danced?" The old man looked up at the gunslinger and said, "No, I never did dance... never really wanted to."

A crowd had gathered as the gunslinger grinned and said, "Well, you old fool, you're gonna' dance now," and started shooting at the old man's feet. The old prospector, not wanting to get a toe blown off, started hopping around like a flea on a hot skillet. Everybody was laughing, fit to be tied.

When his last bullet had been fired, the young gunslinger, still laughing, holstered his gun and turned around to go back into the saloon. The old man turned to his pack mule, pulled out a double-barreled shotgun, and cocked both hammers. The loud clicks carried clearly through the desert air.

The crowd stopped laughing immediately. The young gunslinger heard the sounds too, and he turned around very slowly. The silence was almost deafening. The crowd watched as the young gunman stared at the old timer and the large gaping holes of those twin barrels.
The barrels of the shotgun never wavered in the old man's hands, as he quietly said, "Son, have you ever kissed a mule's ass?"

The gunslinger swallowed hard and said, "No sir..... but... I've always wanted to."

There are a few lessons for us all here:

Never be arrogant.

Don't waste ammunition.

Whiskey makes you think you're smarter than you are.

Always, always make sure you know who has the power

Don't mess with old men, they didn't get old by being stupid.

I just love a story with a happy ending, don't you?

Happy Tuesday, y'all!

Silence & sincerity..

Silence is better than insincerity.

This is something I find myself saying at times when I'm opening up to a friend about something. Usually when they're apologizing for not knowing what to say in response to something I have said. I would rather someone honestly tell me they have nothing to say than to tell me something they don't really mean. When I vent to people, I don't want them to coddle me. I don't want them to lie to me and make me feel better. I only have a handful of people I vent to and honestly, it's because they never sugarcoat, coddle, judge, lie to spare my feelings, lie to make me feel better or do any crap like that. I also trust those people that I vent to implicitly. I don't trust easily and I don't open up to that many people but that's another monster for another day.

I've been doing a lot of thinking lately. About myself, the way I feel about various things, etc. A lot of things about thoughts and feelings I have. Some new, some recent and some that I stifled and never dealt with a long time ago. Mostly, it's stuff that I've stuffed down and ignored from years ago. I figured I was passed a lot of those things but really, I had just ignored them well enough. In working on myself to become a better person in recent months, I realized I have so much shit I need to deal with. Things that I thought didn't bother me anymore. I realized I had done such a good job at hiding everything from other people that I'd ended up mistaking that as having certain issues resolved. How silly of me, eh?

I had a long talk with Fangs last night and I love him for always being straight with me. I vented about some things that he's never had to deal with and he had no clue what to say. He said as much, too. His words? "I'm sorry, I wish I had something helpful to say but I just don't know what to say. I won't lie and pretend I understand because I know I don't and I won't lie and give you some cliche insincere bullshit either."

That is what I love about him. I'd rather be told that than have someone pour out a bunch of cliche bullshit that is anything but sincere. It's not helpful at all either because I know insincere bullshit when I hear it.

Which is also something I love about my boyfriend. He might not always know what to say but he never lies to me, never sugarcoats things for me. Sometimes, he (along with those friends I vent to) say things that sting, say things that I don't always want to hear and say things that sometimes piss me off. I love them for that though because those things are generally things I need to hear. They're not mean or petty about anything. They just tell me the truth and tell me things I need to hear. They never back away from saying something to me for fear that it will piss me off. Even when they know it will piss me off. As Fangs says, he'd rather me be mad at him for a few hours over keeping his mouth shut when he shouldn't have.
And if they don't know what to say, they don't say anything. They never pretend to understand when they don't. I don't always respond well but I appreciate and love them for doing things the way they do.

I'd rather have someone be honest with me, even if it means I open up about something and they have nothing more than a hug and a shoulder in exchange. Having a boyfriend and some close friends that are like that in my life helps me so much.

Hockey & TFLN

The Stars played the Edmonton Oilers last night. By the end of the first period, Stars were leading 3-0. Then the second period, Dallas apparently didn't think Edmonton had any fight in them because the Oilers came back out and scored 3 on Dallas to tie the game up 3-3. Then the third period started, the Stars remembered they should try winning, scored 3 more goals and won the game 6-3. Not only is Edmonton in last place in the Western Conference, they're in last place in the entire league. Out of 30 teams, they're in 30th with a whopping 55 points. Toronto Maple Leafs are 29th and they have 71 points. I would have been bummed the fuck out if my Stars had lost to Edmonton. No offense to any Oilers fans that may lurk around here but seriously... =) On an upside, Mike Modano (who has been my favorite player since I was 9 years old and started watching hockey) was back on the ice last night after missing 9 games due to an appendectomy. He had 2 assists in the game putting him at 801 career assists. I'm so going to miss seeing him play after he retires. It'll be weird to watch a Stars game without seeing him out there, lol.

The Stars play again tonight against St. Louis. And and and... the game will be on network TV so I'll get to watch it on the television instead of watching it on my laptop via a semi-decent live game feed online. Not that I mind watching online because hey, it works and I don't have to miss the majority of the Stars games but watching on a bigger screen with a more clear picture is always better. Hooray. =)

Okay moving on from the sports stuff...

These are not text messages from me or my friends. They're texts off the website Texts From Last Night. I was bored yesterday, decided to browse that website and pull off some of the ones that made me chuckle then compile them into a blog post. I wasn't bored enough to do it for very long, though, lol.

(214): new hobby: convincing random sorority girls around campus that we hooked up last weekend. i'm 2 for 5. (note: this is one of the most amusing ones that I've seen from a Dallas area code, lol.)

(518): you left a note on your car that said " please dont tow, im to drunk to drive. safety first!"

(225): Tortellini makes me feel like I'm eating hundreds of little vaginas

(614): halfway through eating me out he goes 'oh that reminds me i have to buy fish for good friday'

(314): I wouldn't really call it 'getting lucky' considering I paid her to do it.

(636): A horse told me not to drive home last night. I think there was a cop on top of it.

(760): She used my dick as a microphone to sing "any way you want it" I'm in love.

(814): dude stop sending me pictures of your dick in weird places. i get it. you rock out with your cock out.

(605): I walked outside out to find her peeing in her toga with a cigar in one hand and her thong in the other

(313): Eric and I got kicked off of karaoke last night. Apparently, singing about masturbation to the tune of "A Whole New World" is not appropriate and definitely frowned upon by the DJ.

(256): Ricky Martin is gay. You owe me $10 from 3rd grade.

(260): Girl farted next to me in class and then denied my high five

Have a great weekend, y'all!

Drink of the Day: Tequila Part I

In yesterday's blog post, I mentioned something about the Drink of the Day posts I've been doing. I might make it a feature I do every other week instead of every week. Or maybe make it a once a month thing. Or maybe scratch it all together. I have fun doing it but it's not the same as the other things I blog about. If no one is reading my regular blog posts, I don't particularly care because I'm writing as an outlet. For these, I'm writing them so people might have a new drink that they may be able to make for themselves at home or give them something new to order at the bar. If no one pays attention to them, I'll just scratch doing them all together because there's no point. So, any feedback on these posts would be appreciated! If I get no feedback on them, I'll just quit doing them. =)

This week, I've got some drinks and one shot that need some tequila. Next weekend, we'll have "tequila part II" where I'll be featuring three to five different margarita recipes.

Mexican Surfer

2 oz Malibu® coconut rum

1 1/2 oz Southern Comfort® peach liqueur
1 1/2 oz 1800® Tequila

Using the lime slice wet the rim of the shot glass and then dip the rim in salt. Add both liquors to shot glass. Serve with a lime or lemon wedge. Shoot and enjoy.

Blue Sunset

1 oz 1800® Tequila
1 oz Blue Curacao liqueur
1/4 part 7-Up® soda
1/4 part sweet and sour mix
1/2 part orange juice

Garnish (optional):

Lemon slice, lime slice, orange slice.

Add ice to cocktail shaker. Add tequila, Blue Curacao and sweet and sour mix to shaker. Shake well and strain into a glass over ice. Pour 7-Up and orange juice to fill. Garnish and serve.

Bunny Fucker

1 oz Gold Tequila
1 oz Grenadine Syrup
1 oz 7-Up® Soda
1 Splash Orange Juice

Garnish (optional):

Maraschino cherry.

In a cocktail glass, add ice. Then pour tequila over ice, add orange juice and 7-up and mix together. Then splash in grenadine and stir gently a couple times. Garnish with a cherry and serve.

And as always... Don't drink and drive please.
Remember to be responsible when you're out having drinks.

Have a great weekend y'all!

All the voices mistaken..

This picture was taken yesterday evening at the American Airline's Center. It was during warm-ups for the Stars vs Sharks game. Yes, it's empty because a lot of people don't care about watching them warm up. I don't care about walking around looking at everything or checking out the Fan Shop for the 100th time. Granted, a lot of people there were there for the first time tonight. Some people just enjoy walking around and soaking up the crowd, eating before the game at one of the concessions/restaurants, socializing in the bar with the over priced drinks, etc. I just have more fun and prefer watching warm-ups. ;)

Boyfriend and I got to go to the game thanks to our friends, Chevelle and his girlfriend Snakebites. They had four tickets to the game and the other two people were no longer able to go. So, Snakebites asked us if we would be willing to go with them and be their "dates" for the game. Uh, hell yeah. And calm down, it wasn't a real date of any type. We're not swingers and neither are they. I digress. So, we got to go to the game for free and it was against San Jose, which is a team I've never been present to see the Stars play. The seats were pretty good too and as always, I'm always just fucking happy to go to a hockey game.

The Stars won, 5-1. YEAH! I LOVE when they beat San Jose. I can't stand that team. Not that I actually like a lot of other NHL teams honestly. There are a couple, SJ just isn't one of them. They're a good team, though. In fact, they're ranked number one in the Western Conference with 104 points. Of course, they're awesomeness is usually a regulation season thing. Playoff time is a different story, har har har.

Steve Ott (pictured above & no, I didn't take this one. Sadly, lol) got his first career hat trick, which was awesome to see. I wish I had thought sooner to get a picture of all the hats on the ice but I didn't think of it until most of them were cleaned up. You know, too busy cheering and yelling to worry about a picture. It was a great game to go to. Probably the last Stars game I'll go to this season so I'm glad it was a good one.

The only downside is that my boyfriend usually works 4 PM to 12 AM but since the game was at 7:30 PM, he got someone to switch shifts with him at work so he could have the night free to go to the game. Which was nice and I'm glad he got to go. We got food after the game, spent some time chatting and then he took me home and had to leave so he could work midnight to 8 AM. That's only a downside because Wednesday, he didn't get to sleep in any later than he normally does because he had to get up and take care of things. I know he's going to be super tired when he gets off work so I worry about him driving home having spent all night at work instead of sleeping, lol. Luckily, it's only about 30 miles from his job to where we live so not too bad of a drive normally. I know when you're exhausted and haven't slept, driving short distances seems like it takes forever. I think he was going to drink a Red Bull though so I trust that he'll be alright. Hopefully he can come home and pass out so he can resume his regular work schedule later today.

I wrote this around 2 AM then set it up to auto-post at 7 AM. For some reason, some of my auto-post blogs haven't been posting. Hopefully this one does otherwise I'll just publish when I get on next, lol. I think the last time I had one that didn't post when I set it up to was almost a week ago. Blogger can be such a bitch sometimes. ;)

I can't decide what I want to feature on Drink of the Day tomorrow. I also can't decide if I will keep doing it every week or not. I might make it every other week instead of every Friday. I would like to know how many of you actually come by to check out the Drink of the Day posts and would be interested in seeing it continue on every week. Any feedback on that would be appreciated!

Happy Thursday!
